Wesley Holm joined AirTime 500 because he wanted his already successful business to be taken to the next level. For Holm, the next level meant having a successful company that enabled himto domore than just earn a living and provide a great place to work. He wanted to be able to contribute to his community. How does someone get from never having worked at an HVAC company to operating one so successful that he can fulfi ll his dream of philanthropic community involvement? In 2005,HolmteamedupwithAirTime500.Holm got involved inHVACby way of an accounting degree from the University of Cincinnati. “Aft er those four years, I knew one thing for certain: Th ere was no way in hell I wanted to be an accountant,” Holmsaid. Th e company was doing gross sales of $183,000. “My dad learned in a very short time that he did not want to be involved in this at all. He brought me on board as an in- dentured servant. I bought him out shortly thereafter. We were the one-room heating company — literally.We worked out of one room. We could not afford the ‘g’ in those days, so we were just a heatin’ company,” Holm joked. Th at is when the AirTime 500 light bulb went off at a Profi t Day event. GIVING BACK Today, Holm is living the dream as an Air- Time 500 contractor. He takes two months off a year, while working about 45 hours a week during the rest of the year. But, more important to him is what he has been able to accomplish outside of the office.
